New work "Minerals"

I got this idea that I wanted to make a interpretation of a item with fashion and beauty photography, I have seen lately a lot of photographers interpreting butterflies, flowers, or other living things, So I thought that I wanted to interpret something dead, colorful and created by nature. This is how this series of Minerals came to life. 

I photographed closeup images of a total of ten different rocks. Every images is around 20 stacked exposures each just to get all surfaces sharp. We choose the first five of these rocks to interpret with the model and makeup.

In the end I mounted the photographed rock as a texture on the model skin as a form of collage. This wasn't my original plan, but after trying it out on one of the images I fell in love with the idea.
